Recipe of Oats crackers with green chillis, thyme and sunflower seeds

Have always loved baking, specially baking cookies, sweet or savoury and today it’s a cracker which is a little spicy and healthy. Adults can munch on these without guilt, yes minimal amount of sugar and lots of oats and seeds, best had with a warm cup of tea :)



The recipe follows

Oats – 1 cup
Whole wheat flour – 1/2 cup
Butter - 1/4 cup
Sugar – 1 tbsp.
Salt – ½ tsp.
Green chillies – 2. Finely chopped
Sunflower seeds – 2 tbsp., crushed
Thyme – 1 tbsp.
Baking powder – a pinch
Milk – ¼ cup

Method
In a huge bowl throw in all the ingredients and knead to smooth soft dough. If you find it a little sticky, place the bowl in the refrigerator for a while.
Roll out the dough and cut into squares or if you are patient enough to any other shapes J.
Meantime preheat the oven at 150 degrees Celsius.
Place the crackers in a greased baking tray and bake for about 15-20 minutes until the sides starts turning golden brown.
Remove the tray from the oven and gently remove the crackers and place in a wire rack to cool.
Once cooled store in an airtight container.

Done and it’s as easy as this, bake and enjoy !


Tip: Roll the dough between two sheets to avoid breaking and then gently cut and place in the baking tray
